Hemimorphite is the hypothetical fusion of Moonstone (and, by extension, Albite and Orthoclase) and Lapis Lazuli.

Appearance

Hemimorphite is a tall and skinny fusion with two arms, a rounded chest, small waist, and two very long legs. Her skin is light blue with wavy white markings all over her as well as four visible eyes that are blue with black pupils. She also has a sloped and pointy nose and a small mouth with defined lips. Her hair is short and wavy and is a deep teal-blue with two wavy side bangs. Her arms and legs are both long and skinny with slim hands, fingers, and feet. Her gemstones are on her upper back, chest, and naval, and are teal-blues in color.

She wears a light blue tank top with sleeves that wra- around her neck creating a teardrop shape with white and teal accents. Her wrists have golden bands wrapped around them while the rest of her arms and shoulders are bare. Some of her midriff is exposed and she wears shorts that are teal with a light blue upper trim as well as dark teal socks that expose her toes and the lower half of her feet.

Personality

They’re surprisingly chill, but don’t talk more than a few words and just do what they were formed for[1]

Abilities

Hemimorphite possesses standard Gem abilities, bubbling, shapeshifting, fusion, regeneration, agelessness, and superhuman strength/durability.

Unique Abilities

  • Hydrokinesis: Hemimorphite has control over Lapis Lazuli's ability to control water.
    • Flight: She can create water wings using her hydrokinesis and, presumably, fly.
    • Scythe Proficiency: She is able to summon Moonstone's scythe.
    • Marine Telepathy: She has control over all types of marine life.
    • Water Generation: Inherited from Lapis, Hemimorphite can generate a certain amount of water from her gem.
    • Water-Walking: Hemimorphite can walk on water.
    • Memory Projection:She is able to project any of her memories onto a mirror-like surface. While she uses this ability, her eyes lose their pupils and become silvery and reflective in addition she can project her thinkings and combine this ability with her telepathy.
    • Hydromimicry: Hemimorphite can use her control over water to create flawless, powerful water-clones of her enemies. The clones appear to possess the same fighting styles as the originals. They also have the ability to regenerate when damaged and even split to create new clones, making them effectively invincible against most attacks.
    • Acrobatic Skills: Hemimorphite can be very agile and flexible in battle.

Gemology

Gemstone Information

  • Hemimorphite is a component of calamine. It is a sorosilicate mineral which has been historically mined from the upper parts of zinc and lead ores, chiefly associated with smithsonite. They were assumed to be the same mineral and both were classed under the same name of calamine. In the second half of the 18th century it was discovered that these two different minerals were both present in calamine. They closely resemble each other.
  • Hemimorphite most frequently occurs as the product of the oxidation of the upper parts of sphalerite bearing ore bodies, accompanied by other secondary minerals which form the so-called iron cap or gossan. Hemimorphite is an important ore of zinc and contains up to 54.2% of the metal, together with silicon, oxygen and hydrogen. The crystals are blunt at one end and sharp at the other.
  • The regions on the Belgian-German border are well known for their deposits of hemimorphite of metasomatic origin, especially Vieille Montagne in Belgium and Aachen in Germany. Other deposits are in Tarnowskie Góry area in Upper Silesia, Poland; near Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; the Missouri lead-zinc district; Elkhorn, Montana; Leadville, Colorado; and Organ Mountains, New Mexico in the United States; and in several localities in North Africa. Further hemimorphite occurrences are the Padaeng deposit near Mae Sod in western Thailand; Sardinia; Nerchinsk, Siberia; Cave del Predil, Italy; Bleiberg, Carinthia, Austria; Matlock, Derbyshire, England.
